Driver Award Honorees

Each year, MGP honors extraordinary individuals who demonstrate exemplary passion and commitment to our students and support of our mission. The Driver Award recognizes those who have used their time, talents, and resources to improve the outcomes for the young people we serve.

DAWN JACOBS and TED HIGHBERGER

Dawn, Ted, and their family’s contributions to the Midnight Golf Program have made immeasurable differences in the lives of so many young people. In addition to being active Advisory Board members (now known as the Ambassador Program), the Dick Jacobs College Scholarship has awarded over 100 scholarships over the past 10 years to support MGP graduates pursuing their post-secondary degrees. In honoring her father’s legacy through this scholarship, Dawn and her family have made a positive impact on the lives of our young people and helped them realize their dreams. This year’s scholarship awarded 10 Class of 2022 recipients with a renewable scholarship for each year of their program, bridging the gap with the financial resources they need to make graduation possible. The Midnight Golf Program is humbled by your generosity and recognizes your continued commitment to the future of our youth.

DEMETRIUS SCOTT

When Demetrius Scott reflects on his 16-year relationship with Midnight Golf, the term “Ally” best describes his bond with the program. Demetrius is a Class of 2007 alum, a Co-Chair of MGP’s Ambassador Program and is the Director of Corporate Citizenship for Ally Financial. Under his leadership, Ally has been a committed supporter of the Midnight Golf Program, awarding over $120,000 in funding. Demetrius also spearheads volunteer opportunities with Ally team members, including leading the charge on assembling care packages for Midnight Golf alumni in college; sorting and packing the clothing & backpacks for MGP’s annual Road Trip for Success college tour. Additionally, each year since its inception, Midnight Golf alumni have participated in Ally’s Moguls in the Making business pitch competition for HBCU students – an event Demetrius helped create, plan and execute. MGP alumni have been on the winning teams, earned scholarships, and landed internships – some of which have turned into full-time career opportunities with Ally.
