What sets the Midnight Golf Program apart and makes our young people so successful year after year are the individuals who go the extra mile to ensure all students are supported on their paths to success.
Each year, MGP honors individuals who demonstrate exemplary passion and commitment to our students. We are so pleased to present this year’s Driver Award to Lisa and James “Jim” Breaugh, Byna Elliott and The Sehn Family.
Whenever our students call, Lisa and Jim Breaugh are always there to answer. Jim has been a mentor to countless MGP students since 2012. Jim, a pilot with Delta Air Lines, and Lisa established the “Taking Off with Passion and Dreams” Scholarship Fund, which has supported 42 college-bound students annually since 2017.
Byna Elliott has been a central leader in MGP’s growth. Byna is the Senior Vice President and Chief Enterprise Responsibility Officer at Fifth Third Bank and a member of MGP’s Board of Directors. Under her leadership, our annual Road Trip for Success has grown to 6 buses of MGP students and mentors. 1,400 students have participated in this once-in-a-lifetime experience since 2001.
Since MGP began in 2001, the Sehn Family, led by the generosity of the third generation of family members, has treated each student as a member of their own. Family members have served in countless leadership positions within our organization and contributed their time and resources to ensure the success of our young people. The Sally Sehn Scholarship Fund has invested $70,000 in renewable scholarships to college-bound
young women in memory of their family’s matriarch.
The Driver Award Honorees will be recognized at our MGP Talks virtual event on October 1, 2020.
